Easy Way, recycled

So recently BW posted on fb this link for his friend. It was a product on ebay called the PickMaster, which is basically a metal puncher in the shape of guitar picks. It's a lot bigger than the commercial paper shape cutters because it's designed to cut plastic. They recommended bank cards and other uselesss plastics.

I actually had a little storage of guitar picks which I kept in my pigeonhole at uni. Each week, however, a couple will mysteriously disappear. The second last week of uni, I was left with a grand total of 0 picks in my pigeonhole.

Turned that useless Easyway card and Strandbag membership card into picks! And the pineapple tart? Is from a famous shop in Taiwan. Apparently it's so good that people queue up ages just to get some :D a good colleague gave it to me. Yay, it's still Chinese New Year!

Ebay buy

Those who skyped me before, or google hung out, would know. My laptop is so dodgily old that it doesn't even have a built in microphone, so I looked into getting a good one. Absolutely not looking for those that are attached to headphones which you use for starcraft :P

Found one that costed maybe around 30, a logitech one that apparently picks up words very well. Then I read reviews that said it breaks easier and sometimes comes broken during postage.

Went on ebay just for a quick browse and searched my all time favourite brand (haha).  Sony had one small plug-in mic which costs only 4 dollars and free shipping from Hong Kong. It arrived a few days ago, tried and tested. Works super well :) next time, I can video call properly!! Yay.

More Fish!

So another one of my obsessions has started. Cheesecake. However, it seems like cheesecake often comes with bad coffee, so I've taken to ordering either just cheesecake, or cheesecake and tea.

From rhizome
The first was from My Sweet Memory. I did say I was going to come back here and try their cheesecake. Verdict? Meh. The cheese filling wasn't that creamy and it felt like an old cheesecake. Aged cheesecake. Definitely not what I imagined it to be, after all the hype and seeing everyone order it.

Testing. Again.

Hoping that the picture doesn't shrink when I post this. My Sweet Memory cafe opened in Sydney CBD, right next to TomnToms. Having to spend 2 hours of waiting today, I had this coffee there. Slightly burnt... but not to the point of being completely undrinkable.

Anyone want to take a barista course with me? :D

Work, and comfort food

The ultimate comfort food for me at the moment has to be cheesecake. It's just something about the smooth, creamy cheese, sometimes with a tang of lemon, sometimes overly sweet with a caramel topping, other times with fruits or oreo filling. The biscuit base, preferrably hard and crunchy. This New York baked one from starbucks has shredded coconut in its biscuit base.

I did try to make cheesecake before, but that was many moons ago. Perhaps I shall try again soon :)

Music therapy work has started for me! It's time to get back into the roll of thing. Time to start practicing again...

Happy chinese new year! Stay happy and healthy! Eat lots! Work hard! :D

No hate!

It's almost Chinese New Year, and to us, it's always meant more than 1st of Jan, which we usually spend sleeping. This year, my 1st Jan rolled by with iSketch and google hangout (haha, virtual party with friends), but Chinese New Year won't be the same without some cooking, cleaning, and family feast. This year shall not differ!

From CNY 2012
Before typing this entry up, I was actually looking through the articles and youtube videos regarding the "war" going on between Hong Kong and mainland China. Apparently, a mainland Chinese family/friends and kids were eating on the mtr in Hong Kong and was making quite a mess. A Hong Kong man told them not to eat on the train, but instead of admitting fault, they laughed at the man for his bad Mandarin and disregarded him. Things quickly escalated into a full scale argument, with others who were watching joining in and the pressing of the emergency button to call for staff. Someone taped it down and uploaded it on youtube.

Lunch!

All you need: soy sauce, cucumbers cut into quarter inch pieces, nori seaweed torn into quarters. Roll cucumber in seaweed, dip in soy sauce and eat.

Those who read Norwegian Wood by Murakami will know that the main character ate this while visiting Midori's dad.

A real entry

From rhizome
So I shall stop messing around with phone blogging and instead, do a proper "made at home on my pc" entry. Following recipe is compliments of tt, who went to Hong Kong and went all Asian at me afterwards.

New fascination

Try 3: been going around to two starbucks around city and added to my collection of starbucks cards. There's something beautiful about each one... Too bad I can't go to Japan's starbucks, because they have the prettiest designs and lots of special limited edition ones, some selling at over $50 on ebay.

Test 2

The picture can't get any bigger, can it? I shall give up for tonight. Stuff phone blogging, my trusty pc gives perfect results. Will probably be sticking to my computer when it comes to blogging...

Chill!

So the weather yesterday was a scorching summer's day, and it's been a pretty good summer so far as in, 1 out of the 3 months has been just cool "spring" kind of weather, with some rain, clouds and not much heat, but since we're in the middle of summer already, I guess the heat's just starting.

The first Vegetarian Challenge

So recently, my high school friends decided to throw this Vegetarian Challenge reunion. Why, I have absolutely no idea, but since I stand by my opinion that it's more of a waste of money to order vegetarian stuff than meat at restaurants, I guess the alternative is to make your own.

It's Christmas still

And it's going to be Christmas everyday.

So I didn't manage to squeeze one last entry into last year, but that's ok, here it is anyway, the typical "what I did/ did not do in 2011". Gotta admit though, it was a pretty awesome year and I really cannot complain too much about it. Expect many re-posts of photos as I go through all that I took in 2011.

No particular order btw. And lots of randomness, but hey, they're all important to me.
